Description:
Using an interactive project, the children will be able to learn the
values of money.
Goals:
Money values
Objectives:
Student will be able to:
1. Find and read the price of a product.
2. Distinguish between the different money values.
3. Predict if they have enough money to purchase their item.
4. Count out the change they should receive.
Materials:
- old product containers such as: cereal boxes, dish soap, milk
cartons, juice bottles, etc.
- calculator
- play money and change
Procedure:
1. Teacher will set up products for students to purchase.
2. Teacher will give each student an allotted amount of money to spend.
3. Teacher will instruct students to count out their money and then choose a
product they might want to purchase.
4. Teacher will be the cashier.
5. Student will go to cashier and count out enough money to purchase their product.
6. Student will tell cashier how much change they should receive.
7. After each student has purchased a product they will then take a turn being cashier.
Assessment:
Students will count out money, purchase product, and figure out how much change they should
receive.
